'Super-firm' trio reveal combined retention rates

City firms CMS UK, Nabarro and Olswang have revealed their spring retention rates ahead of their merger in May. Overall, the three firms will have 38 newly qualified trainees out of a cohort of 45, an 84% retention rate.

At CMS 22 positions were accepted out of a total of 28 with four lawyers on a fixed term contract, Nabarro offered roles to all of its nine, while Olswang appointed seven trainees from its eight-strong cohort.

Penelope Warne, senior partner at CMS UK, said: ‘Ahead of our combination, we are delighted to welcome the 38 NQs that will be joining the new firm. Attracting and retaining the best people is crucial to the success of our business and we want to ensure that our talented people are provided with the best opportunities to progress.’
